Evaluación del cumplimiento de las norma, preclínico de calidad, de dos medicamentos gastroprotectores de origen natural, que se comercializan en la ciudad de Quito

Abstract:

The present research has as its objective to determine whether two natural medicines with attributed gastroprotective activity, commercialized in Quito, Ecuador, are effective, safe and meet international and national standards. The selection of two drugs for this research was made after an inquiry to stores that sell natural products for medicinal purposes in Quito, Ecuador, activity that permitted to determine that Gastriten® and Drago® Live are the gastroprotective drugs of natural origin most sold and recommended. The evaluation of physical, chemical and microbiological parameters conducted to establish that two different batches of Gastriten® y Drago®Live fulfilled the quality standards required for oral solutions and contained the plants declared in their formula. The preclinical evaluation of the gastroprotective activity of Gastriten® y Drago® Live, permitted to determine present percentages of inhibition with the Index of Ulceration same or higer than drug Omeprazol The preclinical evaluation of the toxicity of the drugs showed that the two different batches of Gastriten® and Drago® Live do not present toxicity the two evaluated natural drugs are safe.
