Evaluación del estado nutricional en adolescentes de 15 a 18 años del Colegio Técnico Industrial Ricaurte, Cuenca 2010


Abstract:

This research was performed on 300 students of Colegio Tecnico Industrial Ricaurte of canton Cuenca, Azuay Province. The purpose of this study was to evaluate nutritional status, physical activity levels and patterns of food intake in adolescents 15 to 18 in schools in the canton of Cuenca. We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional research, randomly recruited 300 students of the Industrial Technical College Ricaurte. The inclusion criteria were adolescents aged between 15 and 18 years were excluded adolescents with serious illness, pregnancy, or on a diet. The study included: anthropometric measurements, assessment of physical activity and dietary intake patterns through surveys of adolescents. According to the study of nutritional status made to the women students, states that 53.7% of the students are in a normal nutritional status, the nutritional status related to age, is attributed to the students whose age is 18 , and its percentage 22% For men it is established that 62.20% of students are in a normal nutritional status, which corresponds to 153 students, in this case the nutritional status related to age is very homogeneous 13.82% of the surveyed students are in a nutritional deficit. The obesity rate is 3%. A level of adolescents is verified that food intake is characteristic hipercarbonada 69% low-fat hypoproteic 11% and 18% (except for certain male students of 18 years, where he is present 3% of obesity). From the study, according to the nutritional status related to dietary intake, 12.3%, 10.7% and 3% are overweight adolescents, risk of obesity and obesity and their food intake is characteristic hipercarbonada and hypoproteic.
