Analysis of the administration in the operative risk of the savings and credit cooperatives of Ecuador
Abstract:
In the popular and solidarity economy sector, savings and credit cooperatives must prepare analyzes in the financial procedures they carry out, in order to know the performance of their internal and external processes. Administration is an important branch in this group; which allows to elaborate different processes for the institutional development. In this case, the operational risk assessment allows to identify flaws in institutional performance. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the operational risk of credit unions in Ecuador. The development of this analysis is elaborated by means of a descriptive study, allowing to detail the main characteristics of the interfering agents. When applying the deductive method, the study variables are detailed analyzing their theoretical and origin bases, identifying the management of operational risk in these cooperatives. Among the results, efficient risk management is identified with the implementation of guidelines that address the objectives of the institution; whose follow-up is executed through qualitative and quantitative procedures, including evaluations and continuous audits. It is concluded that it is essential that entities establish criteria and bases for an efficient recovery in error resolution.
