Evaluación del grado de retracción gingival producido por el hilo 00 en los diferentes biotipos gingivales
Abstract:
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the gingival retraction produced by a retraction cord 00 in the different gingival biotype. Material and Methods: This clinical trial evaluated 34 teeth with periodontal health. The gingival biotype periodontal was detected and the teeth were distributed in two groups: thin gingival type (n same 14) and thick gingival type (n same 20). It was used a gingival retraction cord 00 without chemical substance, it was introduced in the vestibular portion of the gingival sulcus by a calibrated operator using and appropriate instrument following the longitudinal axis with a slight force. To detect the gingival retraction was made two measurements before and after of the gingival cord adaptation: periodontal probing depth (PPD) and by a replica of the tooth by models (M). The measurements were made in different zones: mesial, median and distal. Data were analyzed by Anova y Kruskal Wallis tests (p lesser than 0,05) Results: the initial PPD was not statistical different for both periodontal biotype. It was detected that the PPD was less in the median third and that the PF and M gingival retraction values were not different between gingival biotypes. Conclusions: Gingival cord 00 produces similar retraction in both biotypes.
