Analysis of the deployment and use of cellular technology in Ecuador

Abstract:

The use of information technologies is linked to the use of applications that use the Internet for its operation, mainly social networks and messaging. There are different ways to switch to the Internet, basically it depends on where the users live, in the urban sector, of course, there are more options, in contrast to the rural sector, where alternatives are limited if any. In this research work, the level of penetration of cellular technology was analyzed based on the official information of the institutions of the Ecuadorian state, from 2010 to 2019. It was confirmed how the deployment of cell phone infrastructure has favored important to the use of the Internet, the citizens have this service in places where they do not have cable or fiber-optic options, giving citizens the possibility of interconnection.
