Evaluación del ruido de tráfico hacia diferentes zonas del interior del Hospital Axxis ubicado en la ciudad de Quito
Abstract:
With all the well known facts regarding the effects noise has on people, and even more so on people with health problems; the objective of this study was to understand the noise level produced by vehicles passing through the Avenida 10 de Agosto, at the interior of the Axxis Hospital located in the city of Quito. Ahead of performing the acoustic measurements, certain areas of the hospital were selected for evaluation. The chosen areas were the reception area and patients rooms in the hospitalization area third floor. The measurements were carried out in five points of each zone, and for measurements a sound level meter was used with a 15 minutes integration time on each measurement point. In zone I reception area the equivalent sound pressure level LAeqT during the day, was 76.78 dB A. During the night the value obtained was 73.60 dB A. In zone II hospitalization a lower value than in zone I was obtained. The result was 70.52 dB A during the day and 65.97 dB A during the night. Additionally, a noise map of the area and surveys of hospital staff and patients within these areas of the hospital were made. The results of the surveys indicated that 100 percent of patients considered zone II as a noisy zone hospitalization area and this is due to traffic noise.
