Analysis of the optimal performance of several industrial robots in demanding situations using Pareto


Abstract:

Robots, like any machine, have limitations in characteristics such as maximum load, speed, or acceleration. Although manufacturers specify the maximum and nominal values at which the robot can operate, it is possible to oversize or minimize the capacity of these devices, especially for specific tasks in academia or industry. The purpose of this paper is to provide an alternative for the choice of a robot for a given industrial process, based on a mathematical analysis. The use of genetic algorithms (gamultiobj) to generate a Pareto frontier facilitates the choice of the robot, based on real hardware values. This will provide the guideline for those interested in automating the process, allowing them to acquire a product according to their needs and budget.
