Evaluation and analysis of a prototype wireless sensor for monitoring critical infrastructures in bridges

Abstract:

This project includes an assessment and analysis of a prototype wireless sensor for monitoring critical infrastructure of bridges. The research is divided into two parts: the first focuses on the study of Wireless sensor networks, presenting various technical approaches to architecture, form of communication, and topologies available, the design of the transport network is performed based on Radio Mobile, the quality and performance of wireless sensor network is effected by NS2, using the propagation model TwoRay and an injection of CBR and ftp traffic, the contribution is to create a prototype that works efficiently and assist structural assessments. The second stage involves the deployment of a network of seven sensors motes based on what investigated for obtaining real-time data.
