Evaluation of BDD electrode in the determination of Cd(II), Pb(II) and Hg(II) in wastewater mining (Portovelo - Zaruma, Provincia de El Oro, Ecuador)
Abstract:
We are reporting an analytical method for the simultaneous detection of Cd(II) and Pb(II) and Hg(II) ions in wastewater mining, through square wave anodic stripping voltamemetric; using boron-doped diamond electrode. The characterization of the electrode was performed by atomic force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The limits of detection obtained for the ions Cd (II), Pb (II) and Hg (II) were 0,79 μg L-1, 2,13 µg L-1 and 2,01 µg L-1, respectively. The accuracy of the optimized method was determined by the detection of these ions in a certified reference material (Ref. IAEA-407, International Atomic Energy Agency). The Student's t-test, showed that there is no statistically significant difference between the concentrations and certified found.
