Evaluation of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) for Web Services of a Weather Data Monitoring Platform

Abstract:

The user experience UX is a factor that has gained prominence in organisations that present their products on the web. This leads to evaluating the importance of identifying Internet users’ expectations and needs and emphasising these factors when designing a web portal. On the other hand, the user interface UI allows to offer a visual, simple and friendly environment, to interact with the applications and experience the usability of the web website the present work, the evaluation of the interface and user experience of an environmental data monitoring platform was carried out, emphasising the use of a survey applied to external beneficiaries allowing the assessment of different parameters corresponding to a user-centred design approach such as usability, functionality, performance, portability and reliability; obtaining data on the positioning of the website as well as the Pearson correlation between the variables generated and the version of the platform. This research uses as a case study the data generated by google analytics and google data search console tools, with which the information of the sessions in the “Platform for monitoring atmospheric data in real-time from the network of weather stations of the Agrarian University of Ecuador, Guayaquil and Milagro headquarters” was obtained.
