Evaluation of a management system for occupational safety and health in a dairy industry in the province of Chimborazo

Abstract:

In Ecuador there are high rates of accidents and occupational diseases, so it is necessary to implement management systems in occupational health and safety. This article reflects the result of an investigation whose purpose was design and evaluate a model that implements a management system for the prevention of occupational hazards in a dairy industry, applying a modular scheme. The implementation of the system had a positive impact on the organizational results of the Lácteos Santillán company, improving its efficiency, the work environments of the workers and reducing the work accident rate.
