Evaluation of strategies for electric vehicle management of an Aggregator based on modulation of charging power rate


Abstract:

The increment in global electricity consumption is triggering that energy efficiency becomes a priority for governments. In that way, a massive penetration of electric vehicles is in the focus at their efficient integration in energy markets. This paper presents an evaluation of different strategies for Aggregator to manage charging EV batteries, from a previous work that presented a smart charging methodology using charging power rate modulation considering user tariff preference. In order to adapt several strategies, this paper simulates the effect of these actions in a case study of a distribution system from the city of Quito, Ecuador. Different actions are compared and the economic costs are calculated.
