Evaluation of the flocculation speed in oil/water nanoemulsions. 1) development of theoretical expressions for the turbidity of a nanoemulsion

Abstract:

Puertas and de las Nieves (1997) developed a theoretical approach that allows the determination of the focculation rate of a suspension from the variation of its turbidity as a function of time. Here, suitable modifcations of the referred theoretical approach are implemented in order to calculate the values of the focculation rate corresponding to an oil-in-water nanoemulsion stabilized with ionic surfactants.
