Evaluation of the level of knowledge about advanced life support in rates of unemployment in medical residents of the general hospital docente ambato


Abstract:

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide, and cardiorespiratory arrest is associated with deaths from ischemic heart disease. The investigation evaluated the level of knowledge of the resident doctors of the General Teaching Hospital Ambato, about Advanced Life Support in unemployment rates. The design was qualitative, observational and cross-sectional, working with 70 doctors, of whom 81% identified cardiorespiratory arrest, 76% knew the importance of chest compressions, 56% knew the management of airways and defibrillation, and 61% knew about pharmacological treatment during Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. It was concluded that the resident doctors had a regular level of knowledge on the subject, recommending the development of periodic training.
