Exergoeconomic cost evaluation based on irreversibility decomposition analysis

Abstract:

The objectives of the paper are to review the concepts of the avoidable endogenous/exogenous part of the irreversibilities or exergy destruction from the viewpoint of thermoeconomic diagnosis methodology and, as result of this analysis, to introduce a general technique to decompose the exergy and exergoeconomic cost into its unavoidable, endogenous and exogenous parts. The proposed method provides a detailed analysis of the cost formation process and helps to analyze the potential improvement and local optimization of the system components.
