Extracción, aislamiento, caracterización y actividad biológica de metabolitos secundarios de Hedyosmum strigosum con flores masculinas en la provincia de Loja
Abstract:
Hedyosmum strigosum in the family Chloranthaceae is an aromatic shrub from the Andean Amazon of Ecuador. This species is widely used in folk medicine as an anticonvulsant, an antiseptic treatment, and an anti-inflamatory drug. In the present study there was realized a hyrolytic, of the extract of acetate of ethyl, where there could be identified two molecules, the first one composed by the alcohol cis-pinocarveol joined the acid 4-hydroxycinnamate, and the second molecule composed by the alcohol borneol joined the same acid. Using hexane as a solvent, the terpene methyl3,4-methylenedioxy-5-methoxybenzoate was identified. The components were characterized using different spectroscopic techniques: thin layer chromatography (TLC), gas chromatograph mass sprectrometry (GC-MS), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The antimicrobial activity of the total extract and of each component were tested against seven different bacterial species and two fungal species using microdilution in liquid broth. The minimal concentration to inhibit (MCI) Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis were 15.62μg/mL using ethyl acetate as a solvent as well as hexane. The MCI value using methanol as a solvent to inhibit Trichophyton rubrum was 500μg/mL. The ES018/13 fraction of this extract had an MCI value of 3.25μg/mL against the gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis.
