Angiosarcoma of the face and scalp A case report with generalized metastases

Abstract:

We present a case of angiosarcoma of the scalp, in a 58-year-old male, with two months evolution which at the time of diagnosis already presented multiple ganglionic, pulmonary and hepatic metastases. We emphasize the rareness of this tumour, its growth speed and capacity for local and distant invasion and describe the different therapeutic possibilities: radiotherapy with linear electrons accelerator and chemotherapy with iphosfamide, vepeside and adriamycin. Partial resolution was obtained at first, although a few months later, the patient presented brain metastases with fatal evolution.
