Factores asociados a la preservación del margen gingival post extracción en el sector anterior
Abstract:
The alveolar bone preservation has been defined as a series of procedures aimed at modifying the physiological process of reabsorption that occurs in the alveolar bone because of the loss of the dental pieces, improving the conditions of the ridge for a future prosthetic rehabilitation. This research describes how the esthetical factors have become a priority for the patients, and to the dentist aswell due to planning a tratment to preserve the gingival margin, including the alveolar process, specifying the front sector where the aesthetic factor sought by patients is measured. The aim of the study is to assess the level of knowledge of the tenth-semester students of the Pilot Faculty of Dentistry, 2nd Period, about the preservation factors of the gingival margin after extraction at the front sector and if they apply their knowledge in dental practice. A descriptive research was carried out based on a survey composed of 10 questions to the students, obtaining positive results. More than 50% of the students reported having knowledge about the subject and approximately 40% of the students performed preservation procedures. How a conclusion of our study, it was evidenced the high level of dentistry knowledge and preservation factors principles associated with the preservation of the gingival margin post extraction at the dental front sector.
