Factores de riesgo asociados a la presentación de crisis asmática en pacientes pediátricos en Urgencias en el Hospital General Monte Sinaí en el período julio 2018 - julio 2020


Abstract:

Objective: To determine the risk factors that influence in the presentation of bronchial asthma crisis in pediatric patients between 1 and 9 years of age attended at the Monte Sinai General Hospital period 2018-2020. Methodology: the method used was descriptive with non-experimental cross-sectional design, by analyzing the data obtained from the emergency forms attached to “SIGHOS”, the computer data system of Hospital General Monte Sinai. The data obtained was form the patients with bronchial asthma treated in emergencies between June 2018 and June 2020 at the Monte Sinai General Hospital. Results: 212 patients were found of whom 84% were exposed to environmental contaminants of biological allergen type, and 16% were not, 33% of patients had at least 1 first-degree consanguinity family member with a history of asthma or atopy, 65% of patients were male with the predominance of beginning in the preschool stage the presentation of the disease, 60% of attentions were recorded in the months corresponding to the winter season Conclusions: It was concluded that the determinants of the presentation of bronchial asthma crisis were the usual exposure to biologic allergens, (dust, mist, pollen, animal epithelium, in addition, the family members with a history of asthma or atopic has no influence on the development of bronchial asthma crisis.
