Factores de riesgo de desnutrición en niños de 2-5 años atendidos en el Centro de Salud Trinitaria 2 periodo 2015-2016


Abstract:

Malnutrition is a socio-economic, cultural and environmental, acute or chronic, systemic, non-specific and potentially reversible condition that is caused by the inability of the body's cells to use the essential nutrients. Child growth is the result of the type of food and care that the child receives in the first years of life, if the child ingests inferior foods in quantity and quality to their daily requirements chronic malnutrition occurs and is detected when the child's size Is less than the one that corresponds to his age. It is necessary to carry out this research with the objective of evaluating the factors that influence the occurrence of malnutrition in children of 2-5 years who attend the external consultation of the Trinitaria health center 2, being my proposal an educational and nutritional guide . By organizing nutritional talks to promote the basic foods and nutrients of the child's diet and raising awareness of how important breastfeeding is to periodic prenatal control The type of research is descriptive using a quantitative methodology, with an analytical research design of transversal type, the universe with which we worked 300 children of 2-5 years attending the external consultation of said health unit. In this research, it was observed that the prevalence of malnutrition was 67% of a sample of 300 cases. Since chronic malnutrition is mild, the highest percentage is 52%; also, it was observed that of the 202 cases of children with some degree of malnutrition, the highest percentage was male, children aged 3 years and 106 cases 38%. Among the risk factors that most influence malnutrition identified in the research we have; The age of the mother when marrying or joining 72% had free union, cultural level of the mother 60% only attended the primary level, breastfeeding practice 54% and mothers' lack of knowledge about the main nutrients of the mother 89% child's diet indicating that they are not prepared to form a home. It also influences the economic status, most are at a regular level 80% with incomes that do not cover the basic basket which makes it often does not meet the food and nutritional security requirements of family members and mainly of Children under 5 years.
