Ansiedad y depresión en el proceso de acogida para la institucionalización de adolescentes en riesgo de 11 a 17 años en una casa hogar infanto juvenil de la ciudad de Quito.

Abstract:

In this research, the objective was raised to know how the reception process for the institutionalization of adolescents from 11 to 17 years old and who are currently part of a home in the city of Quito, is related to the appearance of symptoms of Anxiety and Depression. It had a quantitative perspective, with a quasi-experimental and descriptive design, which consists of recording the data of the aforementioned population. A longitudinal cut, since the scales were applied again to the same sample after a reasonable time. An explanatory scope, this because from the Hamilton Scales it was intended to know how the reception process affects the institutionalization of adolescents. A statistical analysis of the data obtained was carried out, these corresponded to those obtained in the scales at the time of admission to the home and at present. The length of stay depends on each judicial process. The chosen population was 14 adolescents who are institutionalized and with a transitory judicial measure, this in order to carry out a family reintegration process or take advantage of other measures proposed by the State. In the data collection, an increase in the average of symptoms in the two scales was found. From the results it was possible to conclude that the adolescents in the sample develop symptoms of anxiety and depression over time; this, despite the fact that the shelters try to meet their needs.
