Factores maternos que inducen parto por cesárea en el Hospital General Liborio Panchana Sotomayor de Santa Elena


Abstract:

Caesarean section is the most commonly performed surgical procedure for women around the world. This surgery allows a fetus to be removed by laparotomy; Is an obstetric procedure to reduce damage to the newborn and the mother, worldwide the ideal rate of cesarean section should be between 10% and 15% according to the WHO. General objective. To determine the maternal factors that are related to the surgical procedure of cesarean delivery of the patients treated at the Hospital. Liborio Panchana Sotomayor from January to June 2017. Methodology. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional analytical design. Results. A total of 354 pregnant women between the ages of 10 and 49 years of age were observed, of which 191 were cesarean, with a result of 53.95%: Conclusions. Maternal factors such as the type of delivery according to the weeks of gestation constitutes risk to the culmination of labor, affecting the state of life of the newborn for the value of p = 0.00 showing a risk in primigravidae at very early and early ages. Another maternal factor is the number of pregnancies presented by a woman, with the age revealing a value of p = 0.00 as a risk factor for delivery to culminate in cesarean section. To improve the knowledge in pregnant women in the identification of risk factors that have an impact on cesarean section and to be able to tentatively reduce the number of cases, a program of educational talks with a promotion and prevention approach was developed.
