Factores nutricionales que influyen en la evolución y las complicaciones en apendicitis aguda en edades pediátricas


Abstract:

Background: The acute appendicitis projects diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in the pediatric population due to the fact that in the children what implies an increase of the morbimortalidad, hospital expenses and school absenteeism. Objective: To determine the nutritional factors that influence the presence of appendicitis the minors from 5 to 12 years. Materials and methods: A study was realized observacional, transversely in pediatric patients who entered to the service of urgencies with suspicion of sharp appendicitis, they there was dealed the form that contains the variables that it was considered to be they might influence the development of complications and those were excluded by negative diagnosis for appendicitis. Sample: It was included 193 patients in the study between 1 and 12 years, 85 girls (44%) and 108 children (56 %), 25 6-year-old minors. Results: There was demonstrated that 98 patients (50,8 %), dealed with perforated appendicitis diagnosed by the surgeon. There were differences marked between the patients that they dealed or complications with regard to the age, antibiotic previous treatments, type of system of health, symptoms and signs found to the physical examination. Concluding factors of risk Exist for the presence of the complications in pediatric patients with appendicitis since they are the age 6-year-old minor, the time of evolution, previous treatment with antibiotics.
