Factores pbkp_redisponentes a depresión en los/las adultos mayores del centro gerontológico Juan Pablo II, Sígsig 2017.
Abstract:
Background: depression is a mood disorder in which the person experiences negative emotions for a very long time, in the older adult this may be associated with other physical disorders, ailments, environment in which the elderly person lives, depression In the older adult it is not a normal state, however, many times it does not receive the proper care and treatment. General objective: to identify the factors pbkp_redisposing to depression in the elderly of the John Paul II Gerontological Center. Sígsig 2017. Methodology: this research is of quantitative type was applied an observational, analytical, cross-sectional design, with a universe of 70 older adults of the Gerontological Center "Juan Pablo II", Sígsig 2017, data collection was performed in order to determine pbkp_redisposing factors for older adults to generate depression, using the scales of Rosenberg, Yasavage. The results will be analyzed by means of frequencies, statistical graphs, by the SPS program. The bivariate analysis was performed using contingency tables, the relationship between independent nominal variables. Use of results: making it clear that 34.3% predominate the presence of older adults who are between 71 to 80 years, as well as the number of female patients with 57.1% who visit the gerontological center, therefore, the 51.4% of patients are widowed. 57.1% of older adults do not have any type of educational training, 94.3% is of Catholic religion, as well as 50% perform some kind of activity that benefits them in their life, instead 58.6% live with a relative who can take care of it In the application of the geriatric depression scale test, 41.4% of patients presented moderate depression.
