Family functionality and perceptional social support. Approach from community intervention in Ecuador
Abstract:
Currently, the approach to family studies is established from an integral perspective, reaffirming the classic concept of the biopsychosocial unit; However, from the proposal of integrality, it is necessary to consider the variable of perceived social support, which is of interest in research, being immersed in family dynamics, undoubtedly influences your homeostasis, when giving or receiving support, under a reciprocal link. The research aimed to determine the relationship between perceived social support and family functionality. Through a methodology of mixed approach, correlational scope and cross-section, through a simple random sampling made up of 100 families from the northern communities of Guayaquil Pascuales parish. The exploration and evaluation instruments applied were structured according to the piloting of the family evaluation protocol in communities. Among the main results, it was evident that the perceived social support is significantly related to family functionality, in addition to visualizing intervening conditions such as the delegation of the role of caregiver in women. The conclusions denoted the viability of generating Community Programs that encourage the formation of social networks and the promotion of social support, as they are considered as protective factors for psychological well-being, by increasing feelings of belonging and identity of group, family and community.
