Fast calculation of quantum chemical molecular descriptors from the Electronegativity Equalization Method

Abstract:

The electronegativity equalization method (EEM) was tested for the calculation of molecular electrostatic descriptors for use in QSAR and related fields. The performance was found to be dependent on the nature of the descriptor for the other molecular descriptors. Both for Mulliken and NPA based calculations, only positive values for the EEM Fukui functions were found.
