First report of Raoiella indica Hirst (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) in Province of Manabí, Ecuador

Abstract:

The presence of the red palm mite, Raoiella indica Hirst, is recorded for the first time in the Province of Manabí, Ecuador. High populations and severe damage caused by this new invasive mite were found on coconut, banana, and on ornamental palm leaves growing near coconut trees in western Ecuador. http://www.zoobank.org/LSID:murn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:221C49DF-4B01-4D10-8D73-ECA05258AF9F.
