First twin-birth obtained by ICSI at National Medical Center 20 de Noviembre, ISSSTE
Abstract:
It is presented the case of a couple with infertility of three years, without antecedents of contraception. The husband of 37 years old had hypotrophic testicles, varicocele and severe failure in the count and motility of sperms. The patient was a 27 years old woman with polycystic ovary, anovulation, menstrual irregularity and FSH/LH inversion. Permeability was found in both tubes. Two cycles of stimulation with clomifen citrate were performed. Negative results were obtained on inseminations. She was stimulated with acetate of leuprolide (Lucrin) 20 IU in the previous cycle and 10 IU with the stimulation of Folitropin beta FSHr 300 U (Puregon) daily. 35 oocytes were obtained. It was performed ICSI of one sperm in each oocyte. They were transferred 4 of 19 fertilized eggs. Fourteen were frozen and one was arrested. As a result it was obtained the birth of twins.
