Fluorosis dental en niños de 6 a 12 años, Unidad Educativa Andoas, Cubijíes, provincia de Chimborazo. Semestre a 2019.
Abstract:
Objcctive: To determine thc prcvalcncc and severity o f dental fluorosis and its rclationship wíth thc prescncc of fluoride in water, typc o f food, oral hygicne and dental caries. Materials and Methods: An epidemiológica!, cross-sectional and descriptive study was carricd out with a samplc of 112 childrcn aged 6-12 years cnrollcd in the ANDOAS Educational Unit, Cubijies Pansh, Chimborazo Province, which met the inclusión criteria and of exclusión previously established. Rcsults: 86% of the study population with dental fluorosis was determined. at their different levels. The concentration of fluonde in water at home level, valúes of 1.88 mg / di and 1.84 mg / di of fluorine. exceeding the levels established by the OMS (0.5-1.5 mg / di). In addition, it is spccificd that thc proportion o f toothpastc used by thc population is cxccssivc and that (be dict of thc population has a cióse rclationship with thc fluorinc-containing foods, observing that within thc foods with severe fluoride concentration, scafood produets are thcy consume bctwccn many times and almost always (27%), in the category of produets with modérate concentration of fluoride, those that consume variations are rice (60%), cheese (45%), bread (37%) and chicleen (36%), and regularly fluoride level foods such as milk, bread, bananas, eggs, tomatoes and cucumber, onions and celery. The study population presented a CPO-D índex of 1.16 (very low) and a ceo-d índex of 3.16 (modérate), anatyzed under the OMS criteria. Conclusión: The prevalence of dental fluorosis at its difieren! levels is high in thc study population. The concentration of fluoride in water at the houschold level cxcccds thc limits established by OMS. The proportion of toothpastc placed in thc active part o f thc brush is cxccssivc and thc dict is rclated to thc consumption of foods containing fluoride, observing frequeney of consumption, in thc severo category thc produets of thc sea, in the modérate ríce, chcese, bread and chicken, in the mild milk, thc banana, thc cgg, the tomato, cucumber, onion and celery. The prevalence of caries is very low in the CPO-D Índex and modérate in the ceo-d índex.
