Forensics and accident/incident investigations for device/information systems
Abstract:
When ECRI Institute was being created in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the founder, Dr. Joel J. Nobel took part in US Congressional testimony that led to the FDA’s medical device amendments in 1975. For over the past 50 years, ECRI continued to pioneer and improve Problem Report Network (PRN) practices which ultimately evolved into an Accidents and Medical Forensics specialty. This chapter explains ways to apply ECRI’s accident and medical forensics methods to the 21st Century information and communication age.
