Antioxidant activity of Argyranthemum spp. aerial parts
Abstract:
The methanolic extracts and essential oils of Argyranthemum spp. grown in the Canary Islands were screened for antioxidant activity, using an in vitro method, based on sodium arachidonoate, bleomycin, and thiobarbituric acid. α-Tocopherol was used as reference solution, and all extracts were active. The most potent of these were the essential oils of A. haemotomma, A. coronopifolium and A. adauctum subsp. canariense.
