Fractional charges induced on monopoles in grand unified theories

Abstract:

An argument is presented which claims that at least some of the monopole ground states in a class of grand unified theories (GUT's) must have color spin. It is also shown that the fractional electric charge induced on GUT monopoles allows natural interpretation as the effect of chiral anomaly. © 1986 The American Physical Society.
