Framework for Developing Educational Mobile Applications to Teach Pronunciation Focused on Usability
Abstract:
During the last year, the use of mobile applications has become an effective tool for teaching language pronunciation, thus generating a great demand for educational software in applications. Nevertheless, the current methodologies do not take into account the learning objectives in the development process which can cause error in final product usability and user learning. In order to reduce these errors, this research proposes a framework to develop applications integrating usability and the pedagogical elements. The results showed the efficiency of the framework in the creation of an application to learn phonemes and the positive effect in the improvement of users’ pronunciation (t=11.8).
