Frecuencia de IgG e IgM para herpes virus simplex tipo II en sangre de embarazadas atendidas en consulta externa del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, Cuenca, 2008
Abstract:
Objectives: The main objective of this study is to determine de frequency of Herpes Virus II Simplex IgG and IgM in pregnant women who were assisted at Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital through external consultation. To relate positive cases with the following variables: age, occupation, education, pregnancy age and abortional background. Materials and Methods: In this epidemiologic – descriptive study to 100 pregnant women who assist to external consultation at Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, in which their serum samples were taken to be analyzed to determine the levels of IgG and IgM for Herpes Virus II Simplex through the ELISA method at “GM” Clinic Laboratories plus the application of surveys to collect all the information required. Results: From 100 women who were analyzed 32% were positive to HVS2. From this percentage 26% indicated positivity to HVS2 IgG, with higher frequency in those ages between 15 and 19 years old (42.3%), while 6% resulted positive to HVS2 IgM with higher frequency between ages 15 – 24 (52%). The range of the results obtained varied from 0.23 – 35.2 UI/ml. and 0.09 – 56 UI/ml. respectively; 56%come from the urban area; 48%have secondary education; 87%are dedicated to household activities (QQDD.) and 84%do not present abortive background.
