Frecuencia de coronas de resina y las coronas de acero post terapia pulpar en dientes deciduos.
Abstract:
There is a large number of cavity lesions that can end in devitalization of the tooth piece to avoid exodontia. Therefore, a good rehabilitative treatment is required to restore functions and aesthetics by using steel and resin crowns that contribute to improving dentofacial harmony. The aim of this research is to determine the frequency of resin and steel crowns post-pulp therapy in primary teeth. The population of this research consists of 2000 folders which contain statistical data regarding the pediatric dentistry department of the Dentistry Faculty of the University of Guayaquil during the 2019-2020 academic period. All folders were inspected and the sample consisted of 36 pediatric patient folders rehabilitated with crowns. Findings suggest that 75% of cases presented resin crowns while 25% of them presented steel crowns. The most frequent gender was the male with 81% in resin crowns; the predominant age was 5, and the most rehabilitated tooth piece was the 75 one. In all, resin crowns are the most frequent because of their great advantage in aesthetics and their disadvantage of micro fractures and eviction of the tooth.
