Frecuency, risk factors, neuroimagenologic findings of mild cognitive impairment in hypertensive patients
Abstract:
Introduction: It is demostrated that 70% of people with mild cognitive impairment will develop some kind of demetia in a five years period. Desing and Objetives: it is a transversal, descriptive study to identificate the prevalence and risk factors of mild cognitive impairment en patients with hypertension. Material and Method: A universe constituted by the patients with hypertension that where followed by a multidisciplinary team of the Instituto de Neurology and Neurosurgery, in the period between june, 2016 to july, 2017. Data were collected from the clinic History of the patients. A Neurology and Neuropsychological examination were done. Information was anal-ized in an automatic way (SPSS 22.0). frequency distribution, Independent test and Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test were used. Results: 310 hypertensive patients were studied, with a middle age of 62,2 years. Three of them (9,7%), presented neuropsychological abnormalities corresponding with mild cognitive impairment. Sedentary people and high cholesterol ranges were related with this affection. Verbal and semantic fluency were the main Neuropsychological abnormalities found joint with motor alternant activity that were present in all 30 patients. Conclusion: Frequency of mild cognitive impairment in hypertensive patients of the Neurologic Institute is low compared with other published studies. Sedentary people and high cholesterol ranges were related with this affection. Verbal and semantic fluency were the main Neuropsychological abnormalities. Neuroimagenologic and Neuropsychological findings related high blood pressure with mild cognitive impairment.
