Fullerene Formation Kinetics in Carbon Vapors

Abstract:

The formation kinetics of fullerenes in a high temperature vapor gas can be synthesized in four major steps. These four steps comprise fundamentally the enlargement of linear chains, their cyclization to monocyclic rings, the addition reaction of two rings to form stable polycycles and the addition reaction of two polycycles to form fullerenes.
