Función sexual y masculinidades en hombres con dependencia de la cocaína en la comunidad terapéutica amor y vida. Enero - julio 2018
Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to analyze the sexual function and the construction of masculinity in men with cocaine dependency belonging to the “Amor Y Vida” Therapeutic Community in the city of Cuenca during the period January-July 2018, to achieve the objective we made use of the interpretive research paradigm, with a qualitative focus of transversal descriptive, the sample was not probabilistic and for convenience constituted by eight men. The main results were: A heterogeneous profile in marital status, level of education, occupation, and consumer stage (two to twenty-five years consuming); the influence of social and cultural factors in the public and private space that led to the initiation of cocaine use; Cocaine had a very intense and negative influence on sexual function, manifested in erectile sexual dysfunction, loss of sexual desire, delayed ejaculation and anejaculation, resulting in physical, psychological and social health consequences; The perceptions about masculinity in the informants reflected the social and cultural construction with influence of the patriarchal system manifested in strength, dominance, virility and violence, although a sense of conscience and some resistance to “machismo” were observed that evidenced changes in perceptions and practices.
