Fusion excitation functions of 132Sn+64Ni reaction using ℓ-summed Wong formula


Abstract:

Application of Wong formula with explicit angular momentum and barrier modification effects is made to fit the fusion excitation function for 132Sn+64Ni→196Pt*→A;1+A2 reaction, with nuclear proximity potential obtained from the Skyrme Energy Density Formalism (SEDF) under Frozen approximation. The barrier modification effects, arising due to the use of different Skyrme forces, are studied in reference to fusion of neutron rich 132Sn with 64Ni target. It is observed that out of the three illustrated Skyrme forces i.e SIII, GSkI and SSk, the last two forces are able to fit the data with smooth variation of ℓmax with centre of mass energy whereas SIII force further requires barrier modifications at near and below barrier energies. Thus, it is clear that required modification of barrier by SIII can be supplemented by use of another suitable force.
