GROWTH FACTORS OF BANK DEPOSITS IN ECUADOR AND THEIR ANALYSIS

Abstract:

It is important to investigate trends in bank deposits and to analyze the factors that may influence this variable. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to analyze the growth factors of bank deposits in Ecuador between 2015 and 2020. A methodology based on the qualitative-quantitative modality has been designed, applying methods of the theoretical level and documentary and statistical techniques to describe and correlate the identified variables. The results that have been identified are of two types. The first is descriptive, explaining the trends in a time line of the dependent variable and six inde-pendent variables; the second result is inferential, applying an RDAR or ARDL methodology. It is concluded that the variable that best correlated with the criterion variable was inflation as an explanatory variable of the trend in bank deposits.
