Abstract:
Treatment OF refractory epilepsy is an unchangeable alteration of epileptic seizures where anticonvulsant treatment does not control the present seizure. The methodology had a qualitative-quantitative approach, cross-sectional type and under the paradigm of action-research, as a technique, a review of clinical histories was used and a survey was used as an instrument. As part of the results obtained, the male gender was predominant, the most frequent etiology was structural, among the representative signs and symptoms were disorientation, unconsciousness and generalized convulsive crisis. Intravenous medication and encouragement of patient rest were included as nursing activities.
