Gabriela Pazmiño. Un caso de estudio de la construcción de la imagen de la mujer política ecuatoriana

Abstract:

The political participation of women can be better understood through two general statements: conquest and denial (Ranaboldo y Solana, 2008). In the present there are multiple fields of action, mainly in the private sector in which women assert the role as leaders, however the transition from the public sector into the public one has not been without multiple debates and its still very hard for women to hold a high ranking position in the public service. The main reason for this is the general status quo and mistaken stereotypes under which they are judged or classified. With this in mind, the present thesis has the mail goal to explore the actual process and the construction of image for the political women today in Ecuador, to this end the case study chosen is the public figure of Gabriela Pazmiño. Through interviews and conversations that better help understand her history in the political context, as well as the main experiences that resulted in the public image and leadership she holds in the present.
