Generalized pustular psoriasis: A case report and literature review
Abstract:
Psoriasis is a systemic inflammatory disease of immuno-genetic origin with predominantly cutaneous manifestations, but it can also affect mucous membranes, skin appendices and even compromise the joints. The main clinical forms of this disease are: plaque or vulgar psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, erythrodermic psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, inverted psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis; which can be combined in the same patient. Pustular psoriasis can occur in a localized or generalized way, Generalized Pustular Psoriasis is an unusual, severe form of presentation with systemic involvement that can lead to various complications including the death of the patient. In the following clinical case a patient is described to whom this diagnosis was made in an Ecuadorian health center.
