Geographical distribution of the genus inga miller. (leguminosae: Mimosoideae) in the zulia state, Venezuela
Abstract:
A research was carried out with the aim of knowing and determining the geographic distribution patterns of the Ingas species presented in Zulia state. Herborized samples taken from HERZU, VEN and HMBLUZ were revised, complementing with the information of samples collected from the field and from the information obtained in the literature. To determine the distribution of species, a correspondence analysis (AC) was applied, using the statistical software SAS, 9.13, 2008. Likewise, a river basin distribution map was elaborated using the geographical georeferencing program, Arc Wiew GIS 3.3. The results indicated the presence of 14 Inga species, distributed in different localities belonging to ten parishes of Zulia state, where the highest number of species (8 spp.) was found in Colón parish. 50% of the evaluated species were related to soils which were constantly flooded, and in riparians areas, in altitudes oscillating from 23 masl (Inga splendens Willd) to 600 masl (Inga vera subsp. Spuria (Willd.), the latter presenting the widest distribution with presence in seven out of the ten parishes mentioned I. ingoides, I. laurina e Inga splendens were reported as new registers for the region.
