Government information security scheme EGSI and its application in public entities of Ecuador

Abstract:

With the advancement of new technologies, the diversification of information and the importance it currently has in organizations, the need has arisen to keep information safe in view of any event that could put such an important asset at risk. In Ecuador, taking into account this need, it has been decided to issue a document with good practices and standards that help the management of public and government information. This article is a review of the Information Security Manual (EGSI) and its scope of action. The procedures and values that they integrate in order to know the level of abstraction and maturity of the security processes for the users of information that the EGSI provides for their mandatory application for public entities of Ecuador were detailed.
