Análisis al encuadre de la comunicación audiovisual en Twitter del presidente de Chile, Sebastián Piñera, durante el estallido social de 2019
Abstract:
The research examines how the Chilean president, Sebastián Piñera, directed his audiovisual communication posted in his official Twitter account (@sebastianpinera) during the Social Outbreak of 2019. The time frame is between October 6th to November 25th, where 10 live broadcasts were extracted. These dates begin with the first protests demonstrations and ends with the announcement of a New Constitution process to attend people´s demands. The selected technique for this study was framing to have a better understanding of the parameters required by president Piñera for his official announcements. The framing analysis was divided into three main events. First, the communication strategy that was applied. Second, the framework for the government´s speech construction. And third, the visual narrative composition. It was found that President Piñera’s communication managed a protagonist frame and served to tell certainties through norms or laws, as well as the solutions reached, all directly to the citizens.
