Guía de tratamiento doméstico para la insuficiencia de convergencia en niños. Estudio realizado Parroquia Ximena
Abstract:
The insufficiency of convergence is the physiological visual condition that prevents both eyes from projecting a single image on the retina, causing a series of symptoms, such as diplopia, blurred vision, headache, difficulty reading and concentrating, its causes can be factors Anatomical, ocular, refractive. the convergence insufficiency in children is correctable for this, different visual therapies are applied, these were used according to the degree of binocular vision, which are simultaneous perception vision, fusion and stereopsis, being this last degree of vision the one analyzed in our study, where we evaluate the ability of the patient to observe an image in three-dimensional vision and translate the therapies into an exercise that children can perform with the guidance of their parents. The visual therapies were explained in two phases, in the office starting with the monocular, biocular, binocular therapy that at home were reinforced with the eccentric circular technique. The parameters that were evaluated were the next points of convergence which is equal to or less than 6 cm and the capacity to maintain the fusion is greater than 30 seconds. The recommendations to the parents were made and evaluated in the subsequent consultation. With satisfaction it was demonstrated that the application of visual therapies with a domestic guide in children with convergence insufficiency is effective to improve the binocular vision and their lifestyle.
