4-Arylmethyloxymethyl piperidines as tachykinin antagonsits

Abstract:

This application is A371 of PCT/GB93/02214 filed Oct. 27, 1993. This invention relates to a class of azacyclic compounds, which are useful as tachykinin antagonists. More particu larly, the compounds of the invention comprise an azacyclic ring system substituted by an arylmethyloxy or arylmeth ylthio moiety. The tachykinins are a group of naturally-occurring pep tides found widely distributed throughout mammalian tis sues, both within the central nervous system and in the peripheral nervous and circulatory systems. The structures of three known mammalian tachykinins are as follows:
