Guía turística de los oficios tradicionales de la ciudad de Cuenca: una alternativa para el desarrollo del turismo cultural 2014

Abstract:

This thesis proposes an alternative touristic material focused on the local culture, particularly in the traditional labor. Throughout the three chapters of this work it poses the idea of elaboration of a touristic guide of workshops with the purpose of showing another face of Cuenca as a cultural center abundant in traditions. After breaking down the approach, in the first and second chapter a brief run through the history of the city it’s made, so as the traditional crafting jobs that flourished and developed during the colonial and republican periods. They contain basic information about these times, intimately related with the development of the crafting traditions so as to have an intelligent overview of them though the years with the inclusion of new technologies. Besides the material compiled as a part of the bibliographical part of the thesis, it is also included the data of the actual investigation work, obtained through a series of interviews done to the craftsmen belonging to all the different guilds. This were done with the objective of achieving an integral vision of the craftsmanship work in the present times, while constructing an analysis of the different economic, social and technological factors that have affected and altered in one way or another the guilds situation.
