H<inf>2</inf>S liquid scavengers performance at hydrodynamic gas conditions
Abstract:
In the northern region of Venezuela, a project has been developed to evaluate different H2S liquid scavengers in a gas pipeline that transmit 8.3 MMCFPD of gas flow. This study was carried out in order to use new technologies designed for natural gas treating systems of 40-60 MMCFPD capacity with an H2S content below 100 ppm. The average operational conditions of the gas pipeline employed for those tests, were 120 F, 100 Psi, 6.6% CO2 and 40 ppm H2S. The performance of each product was measured by determining the decrease of H2S content of the gas flow, at the end of the gas pipeline. Additionally, laboratory tests were realized with liquid specimens recollected downstream of the injection point, to measure the corrosivity and absorption capacity of those liquids.
